B i b l e N u m e r i c s

By Andrew Harris 29 November 1999

This site is mainly dedicated to numbers and patterns within the Bible, but other Bible topics such as science and the Bible also get a mention. This site is in part designed, to share my own continued research into Bible Numerics. So some of the material presented here will be new - never before released - research. However this research is time consuming, so the amount of new material presented will probably only grow slowly. Nevertheless, I hope you find it interesting and informative.

This web site is constantly being updated (I know every site claims that). Please check out what's new to see what may have been added or amended since your last visit.

If you want to get straight into the subject matter then either click on the 'intro' leaf on the left or the 'intro' button at the bottom of this page.

What's New this Week

4 February 2002.
I have bitten the bullet and am moving this site over to its own address, the process may take some time but I am reworking the site to improve its readability (by keeping the text narrower on larger screens) and making improvements to the graphics (new, better bullet graphics etc.) and adding more content as the new site will have room for much more.

I keep an archive of previous "what's new" sections so that you can follow the site as it grows and changes.

Notes

This site makes use of Hebrew and Greek letters in many places, to be able to view these you will need to down-load the fonts used. If you don't you will still see most of the Greek text, it will be using a font which most computers running Windows will automatically have installed - the System.ttf font. However this font does map some of the greek letters to different english letters and so the results can be a little bit strange. For best results download the following two fonts and place them in your "c:\windows\fonts" folder.

Hebraica font
48kb.

Graeca font
51kb.

Disclaimer!

I have drawn information for this site from many sources. However any mistakes, ommisions, typos, inaccuracies and blunders are entirely mine.

The views, opinions or ideas about Bible Numerics, expressed on this site are not necessarily those of the church at which I fellowship. They are not part of doctrine or any part of essential belief encouraged by the oversight of my church. Rather they are my own research and thinking on a subject which I find interesting and rewarding. For information about what I do consider to be essential for salvation please visit the RCI web site.

Acknowledgments

Mervyn Sunderland

The text for "Science and the bible" was adapted from the pamphlet of the same name by Mervyn Sunderland. I would like to gratefully acknowledge his assistance and encouragement.

E.W. Bullinger

Ethelbert W. Bullinger was born in 1837 and died in 1913. He produced many excellent writings of Biblical scholarship, most notably, for our purposes, "Number in Scripture". In most of my research this book has been my starting point for identifying most numbers, and a frequent reference thereafter. While I do not agree with everything he has to say about all of the numbers, it is still an excellent study of the subject.

Ivan Panin

Ivan Panin was born in Russia on December 12, 1855. He participated in plots against the Czar at an early age, and was exiled. After spending some years studying in Germany, he moved to the United States. In 1890 he discovered some of the phenomenal mathematical designs underlying both the Greek text of the New Testament and the Hebrew text of the Old Testament. He devoted over 50 years of his life painstakingly exploring the gematria of the Scriptures, generating over 43,000 detailed, hand-penned pages of analysis (and exhausting his health in the process). He died at 87 on October 30, 1942. While his use of statistics was incorrect, the volume and the dedication of his lifelong work in this area should be acknowledged
