Victorian - Regional Promotional Groups


Victoria has it own regional promotional groups (listed below) which organise shows, meetings, workshops, stud tours and social activities. New members are encouraged to join in, share their experiences and seek advice from more experienced members. Some promotional groups also produce their own newsletter, available for a small subscription fee, keeping members up to date with local news and events.

Victorian - Official Measurers


As the Australian Miniature Pony is a height Society, throughout it's early life (growth period) a lot of attention is spent on your Australian Miniature Pony's height to ensure it still meets height requirements.

Official height measurements will need to be completed by Official Measurers and the Society notified with the appropriate paperwork and payable fee. Also at various shows run under Australian Miniature Pony Society Inc. Rules. Official Measurers may be present to ensure all ponies shown are 87cm or under in height.

To have your pony officially measured for registration/recording or age & height recording, you will need to use an official measurer of Australian Miniature Pony Society Inc.. Members are asked to contact your nearest Victorian Official Measurer listed below. Please remember to make prior arrangements with the measurer re petrol expenses for travelling, as this is a voluntary postion.

If you live in an area not serviced by Official Measurers OR are an Official Measurer yourself, a request will need to be made through your National Committee for either yourself or a nominated party to measure your ponies in each instance.

Measurements - At Adult Registration (between 2 years and 4 years of age).

All Adult Registered ponies and Appendix Recorded mares must be officially measured between the ages of 2 years and 4 years, and before being bred from. If 85.5cm must be measured at 6 years of age.
Adult Registrations: If an Adult registered pony measures over 87cm, they are de-registered upon notification to the Society.
  If the pony is a Mare/Filly, the owner may apply to Appendix Record the pony if it is 91.5cm or under in height.
   
Appendix Recordings: If an Appendix Recorded mare measures over 91.5cm in height, they are de-registered by the Society upon notification to the Society.
   

Measurements - At 4 years of age.

All Adult Registered ponies and Appendix Recorded mares must be officially measured between 4 years and 5 years of age. If this is not completed a fee will apply (refer to Membership and Registry Fees for schedule of fees. If 85.5cm must be measured at 6 years.
Adult Registrations: If an Adult registered pony measures over 87cm, they are de-registered upon notification to the Society.
  If the pony is a Mare and not already appendix recorded, the owner may apply to Appendix Record the pony if it is 91.5cm or under in height.
Appendix Recordings: If an Appendix Recorded mare or filly measures over 91.5cm in height, they are de-registered upon notification to the Society.

Measurements - At 6 years of age.
 
Adult Registrations: The measurement is required to be completed on all Adult Registered ponies between 6 years and 7 years of age - if they measured over 85.5cm at their 4 year height measurement.
Appendix Recordings: This measurement is required to be completed on all Appendix Recorded ponies between 6 years and 7 years of age - if they measured 89.5cm or more at 4 year height measurement.
